Description of Introduction to Power Quality

The course provides basic knowledge of which parameters are involved in power quality and why they are important. The course’s focus is not on in-depth technical insight, which is to be gained through subsequent courses such as "Harmonic Currents" og "the series of courses on frequency converters" but to gain an overview to build on. The course is aimed both at the hands-on technician and at administrative staff who need technical insight

Relevant standards for power quality and measuring equipment are reviewed. The topics are the assessment of changes in voltage level, including light flicker, Flicker. Distortion and noise on the power grid, harmonics, interharmonics, and extended frequency range 2–9 kHz.
