Motor drives: Faults

Expected to be completed in the summer of 2025.

Errors and challenges with noise in an industrial installation or on the power grid are often caused by issues with motor drives. A simple control measurement can clarify whether each motor drive is absorbing energy as intended. Errors and disturbances can arise both due to defects in the motor drive or because the grid impedance is too high. Throughout this course, several cases with errors will be presented, along with the parameters that are important to measure.

You don't need to be an expert in electronics to check for burnt components, and with a background as an electrician and knowledge of motor drives, you can also locate the individual components that must be damaged. This course is a stepping stone to solving and troubleshooting practical issues with a three-phase analyzer, such as a voltage quality logger.
