Relay Protection

This course day starts from the basics of what relay protection is and the different types of protection methods available. It highlights how selectivity is achieved. The focus is on gaining knowledge and becoming capable of performing relay protection tests.

TSE-Learning brings test equipment and protective relays as well as current transformers. Work is done in small groups on tasks related to relay protection and then with practical exercises.

HV cable tests

This day looks at what should be tested in an installation with HV cables. It begins with sheath testing and fault location of sheath faults. Following this, the insulation, PEX, is tested. It starts with a review of basic cable construction and typical faults.

E-learning courses on faults in HV cables and VLF testing, including procedures and safety, are conducted in small groups with associated tasks. The course concludes with a brief seminar on other troubleshooting methods, PD measurements.

Motor drives and power quality

Motor drives are a common source of operational issues, applicable to both large and small motor controls. It is therefore important to perform control measurements and verify that the motor drives operates correctly without causing unnecessary noise.

This includes the connection requirements over 50 kW as well as troubleshooting on motor drives. An important part of this is to examine harmonic currents and voltage quality. This is done through 4 e-learning courses, assignments, and practical measurements on motor drives.

Reflectometer

The reflectometer has many applications, but is typically used in connection with cable faults.

A learning day can focus on cable fault finding or interact with other topics, such as thermography.

Installation test

It starts with a presentation about why and what specifically the company in question should focus on.

Subsequently, the respective e-learning courses will be conducted in small groups with accompanying questions/tasks and followed by a practical exercise. As needed, soil surveys or another supplementary task can be concluded.

Building envelope, building thermography, and blower door tests.

Thermography and pressure testing are two tools that go hand in hand. Basic knowledge of these topics is essential for anyone involved in construction and renovation.

Adjustments can be made to the program, but the topics are: Density, vapor barriers, thermal bridging, thermography, and blower door tests. Work is conducted in small groups with tasks related to the e-learning courses and subsequent practical exercises involving thermography and pressure testing.
